Saw the authors speak at a library event. When you have issues it’s very easy to get yourself wrapped up in the first person that shows you any kind of, seemingly, positive attention. At times it almost sounded too bitter to read, but in the end I really appreciate that element in her writing. Makes you wonder how many other kids fall through the cracks and if others are even in this type of situation. A little more of the psychology would have been good.
